The outbreak of COVID19 has a great impact on the world at large. Although it has negative impacts on most industries, it can be said that only a few industries have financially benefited from the outbreak.

The majority of the industries that are benefiting from the outbreak are industries that offer home deliveries for their customers. It is no surprise that cannabis delivery has peaked since the outbreak of COVID19. A lot of people are order their marijuana from the comfort of their own home.

How did it spike?

Series of findings have proved that there is always an increase in sales for vice industries such as tobacco and alcohol during an economic downturn. For instance, in 2008, there was an increase in the demand for marijuana during the European economic recession.

Since the beginning of the outbreak of coronavirus, cannabis companies across the United States, Canada, and other areas have been recording a rise in the sales of cannabis. From the beginning of the COVID19, there has been a very few increases in sales in various other industries.

Due to the increase in the numbers of COVID19 victims, there was a probability that there might be an extension in lockdown everywhere. So to avoid scarcity of needed products such as cannabis, people began to make an order for cannabis to stock it at home.

At the end of March when people began to restock, there was an increase in the demand for cannabis. Over time, the demand keeps increasing for it compared to other products.

During the period, many delivery companies made a higher delivery for cannabis than they did for other items.

Why did it spike?

There are several reasons why the demand for cannabis spiked during the COVID19. A few of the reasons are:

  • Stockpiling

One of the reasons why it spiked was because people were stockpiling during the outbreak of the pandemic. People were trying to stockpile most things that they would need at home to avoid contracting the disease. So, many consumers of cannabis added cannabis to the products they stockpiled.

  • Fear of the Pandemic

The outbreak of COVID19 created fear into the hearts of a lot of people. This fear led to anxiety and traumatic feelings. As a way of dealing with the trauma created by the pandemic, people began to use cannabis for its therapeutic properties.

  • Support for the Immune System

Another reason why the delivery of cannabis peaked during the pandemic was that people demand products that can promote wellness and sleep. The reason is that sleep and wellness support our immune system. Products that boost the immune system recorded a rise in sales during COVID19.

Since cannabis can ease the mind and promote mental wellness, people began to order for cannabis.

  • Social distancing

COVID19 introduced a new world order. As a measure to avoid contracting the disease, social distancing was introduced into the world order. As a result of this, people began to order for home delivery of cannabis to adhere to the new social norm. People were trying to avoid physical contact with others at the retail stores.

Now, you know the reasons for the unprecedented spike in cannabis delivery since the beginning of covid19.
